Tweet downtime with Pingdom

Uptime monitoring tool Pingdom recently added the ability to receive notices about your site’s status via Twitter: a webmaster could receive alerts from @pingdomalert in the event that your website went down. Those alerts could be public replies or private direct messages, depending on your own choices. In response, users of the service asked Pingdom for the ability to automatically send out similar alerts from their own Twitter accounts.
Pingdom has now added that ability to the features it offers webmasters. If you use it to monitor your website, you can have your Twitter account notify your followers of any problems automatically — which may prove to be very useful if you’re hosting a service or a particular piece of information.
