Like a cell phone version of Doctor Who, the old BlackBerry Bold has just regenerated into the beautiful Bold 9700, with the few little glitches in the earlier incarnation now completely ironed out.

Smaller and lighter than the 9000, the 9700 manages to boast an impressive 2.4 inch screen and comes crammed with state of the art features. The rollerball navigator of the earlier model has gone – you use a touchpad with the 9700 to get round the menu instead.

The 15000 mAh battery delivers a thumping 5 hours of talktime and up to 19 days of standby. Add to this a full multimedia player, GPS and WiFi, microSD expandable memory, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a full QWERTY touchpad and you’ve got a honey of a cell phone you won’t want to be parted from.
