Amby Baby Recalls Motion Beds
December 10, 2009 BY

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Amby Baby USA announced a voluntary recall of the company’s Amby Baby Motion Beds. The Amby Baby bed, a hammock designed to rock baby from side to side for better sleep, may cause infant suffocation.
Amby Baby knows of two infant suffocations caused by the bed this summer. The tilting of the hammock can cause an infant to roll and become entrapped against the hammock’s fabric or mattress pad, or between the two part.
Approximately 24,000 Amby Baby units were sold online between January 2003 and October 2009. Parents and caregivers should contact the manufacturer immediately for a free repair kit and find alternate sleeping arrangements for their infant.
